Happy Social Work Month!
Every March, The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) celebrates National Professional Social Work Month. This observance serves as an opportunity for social workers around the nation, world and their supporters to educate the public about the invaluable contributions of the profession. Every day, the nation's 680,000 social workers work to empower and elevate millions of people, including some of the most vulnerable in our society.
Here at Voices for Children | CASA of St. Louis our team of Case Advocacy Supervisors (CAS) is comprised completely of former social work professionals. In fact, it is required that each Supervisor must have 3-5 years of social work or social services experience. With their background knowledge and understanding of issues and dynamics within families in crisis to child abuse and neglect, they serve as the perfect group of individuals to provide quality case management support for our Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Volunteers. Each CAS supervises up to 30+ volunteers and guides the volunteers in developing an individualized case advocacy plan for each child.
As we celebrate National Social Work, we salute our team of CASA Advocacy Supervisors and thank them for their continued dedication to some of our region’s most vulnerable citizens.
